What is Municipal Wastewater?
Municipal wastewater is defined as wastewater from households or a mixture of wastewater from households and of industrial origin as well as precipitation water.
There are several levels of municipal wastewater treatment; these are primary, secondary and tertiary levels of treatment. Most wastewater treatment facilities use primary and secondary levels of treatment, and some also use tertiary treatments. The type and order of treatment may vary from one treatment plant to another.
